The structural foundation


(1 Peter 2:5-6) you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.


The main functions of bones in the human body are to provide support and shape, protect vital organs, allow for movement (along with muscles and joints), store minerals, and produce blood cells.


  • Job 19:20: "My bones stick to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped by the skin of my teeth". 



  • Psalms 32:3: "When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long". 



  • Proverbs 17:22: "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones



  • Job 10:11: "You have clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews". 



  • Psalms 139:15-16: "My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth


  • Proverbs 3:8: "It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones" (or "nourishment to your bones").

  • Psalms 35:10: "All my bones shall say, 'O LORD, who is like you...?


  • Ezekiel 37:7: "So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
