Essence
Leviticus 17:14- because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, “You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.”
Blood is produced in the red bone marrow, found in your bones.
Blood's primary functions are to transport oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and waste; protect the body from infection and blood loss; and regulate body temperature, pH, and fluid balance, keeping cells alive and the body functioning through its components like red cells, white cells, platelets, and plasma

Transportation:
Delivers oxygen from the lungs to tissues and carries carbon dioxide back.
Transports nutrients (glucose, amino acids, fats) from digestion to cells.
Carries hormones from endocrine glands to target organs.
Moves waste products (like urea) to the kidneys and liver for removal.
Protection:
Immunity: White blood cells and antibodies fight infections and foreign invaders.
Clotting: Platelets form clots to stop bleeding (hemostasis) after injuries
Regulation:
Temperature: Distributes heat, helping to maintain a stable body temperature.
pH Balance: Buffers the body's pH, keeping it within a narrow, healthy range.
Fluid Balance: Helps regulate the amount of water in the body

Main Components & Roles
Plasma: The liquid part, carrying nutrients, hormones, proteins, and waste.
Red Blood Cells (RBCs): Contain hemoglobin to carry oxygen.
White Blood Cells (WBCs): Immune cells that fight infection.
Platelets: Cell fragments crucial for blood clotting.
