Muscles Involved In

sitting

Bad Posture = Pain

There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12

Hip Flexors

The muscles that flex the hip when sitting. These become tight and start a tug of war with your glute and hamstring muscles which extend the hips. then causes lower back pain when you stand.

Tug of war erectors fight to keep erect

While sitting youre hunched over using core muscles: Tight chest muscles contracted which cause weak upper back muscles. Causing rounded shoulders and people get massages which further lengthen= weaken upper back as well as neck muscles. So these are fighting hard to keep you upright and may also get knots because of such

While sitting youre hunched with a flexed trunk. These muscles flex the trunk: rectus abdominis, external obliques. Transverse abdominis, psoas major

A Chain Reaction: Now Your Back Hurts

Erectors

Why do you think old people walk hunched over? That’s because muscles have memory and the older we get the erectors lose in the tug of war and accept its position—elongated. These things can be prevented. At Knot The Trap house, we use simple methods to correct your posture so you can implement this into your lifestyle and age gracefully.

Antagonist to erectors are abdominal muscles: rectus abdominis, internal external obliques. Core stabilizes the spine, weak forces low back to overcompensate

Glutes

Glutes primarily stabilize the pelvis, preventing it from tilting or dropping, especially during single-leg movements like walking or running, which is crucial for balance and proper alignment with the spine and hips. They stabilize the hip joint by holding the femur in place, control the femur, and support the entire kinetic chain, reducing strain on knees, hips, and lower back.
